Palm Oil Crystaliser Process change to Emech delivers Improved Yield and Decreased Cycle Times
23rd March 2010

After 12 months of testing of the Emech actuator and F2 control valve technology on the Palm Oil Crystallization Process, Emech Controls distributor in Malaysia, Mr S K Tan from Advanced Process Instruments, has developed a significant insight into the complexity of the Palm Oil Crystalliser Process.
His expertise gained alongside the trial partners have confirmed the delivery of significant improvements in yield for Iv60 Palm Oil through the use of Emechs control technology.
As a result of providing unsurpassed precision temperature control around set points through the use of Emech product, reducing the variances occurring when changes from cooling tower water and chilled water cutover occur, and tuning the process around the latent heat, Mr Tan has been successful in helping customers deliver yield increases in the 5-10% area, with some customers achieving even better results.
The complexity of the crystalising process and the quality of the outcome is a challenging industrial application. Through the use of magflow metering and a series of tests benchmarking yields from common source products, Mr Tan has proven the value of Emech precision control in improving crystalliser performance and yeild.
